Successful project implementation 2024/2025: Sustainable solution against abrasion with ceramic-lined ET pumps
Abrasion poses an enormous challenge in many industrial processes—especially where abrasive media are transferred. In 2024, our customer was confronted with precisely this problem: High wear on pumps and pipe sections led to frequent downtime and soaring maintenance costs. Together with CP Pump Systems, a sustainable and efficient solution was sought, which is now considered a total success.
In 2024, our customer faced a major technical challenge. Severe abrasion in a critical process led to considerable wear on pumps and pipe sections. Replacement intervals were extremely short – key components had to be replaced approximately every 12 weeks. This not only led to high costs, but also to recurring production interruptions.
Together with CP Pump Systems, a project was launched to solve this problem in the long term. The approach was clearly defined: the abrasive effect was to be significantly reduced by reduced flow velocity achieved through adjusted pump speed.
In mid-2025, CP Pump Systems' ceramic-lined ET pump was fully implemented and successfully commissioned. Since then, there have been hardly any signs of abrasion on the affected components – clear proof of the effectiveness of the chosen technical solution. The result is a significant increase in efficiency, operational reliability, and sustainability as well as a significant reduction in operating costs.
We are proud of this successful collaboration and the results achieved. Projects like this illustrate the importance of innovative technologies, expert advice and strong partnerships in industry.
Advantages of ceramic-lined ET pumps
1. Excellent resistance
Ceramic is significantly harder than metal and is much more resistant to abrasive particles such as crystalline particles, sand, sludge, or other solids.
2. Longer service life
Thanks to their high abrasion resistance, pump components need to be replaced much less frequently, which reduces maintenance costs and minimizes cost intensive downtime.
3. Consistent efficiency
Less wear means that the hydraulic performance of the pump remains stable over a long period of time.
4. Sustainability and cost savings
Fewer spare parts and fewer production interruptions lead to improved overall efficiency and also conserve valuable resources.
The successful implementation of this project clearly demonstrates how targeted process optimization and the use of innovative pump technology can enable sustainable improvements. The combination of an adjusted pump speed and a ceramic-lined ET pump has significantly reduced abrasion, extended service life, and sustainably reduced operating costs.
This project underscores the added value of partnership-based collaboration and the use of future-oriented solutions in demanding industrial applications. We are delighted with the results achieved and look forward to further joint projects focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.
