Efficient machines produce efficient pumps
"cleaner pumps, cleaner planet" is what CP Pump Systems stands for. Maintaining these values requires commitment. We measure energy consumption on key production machines to determine if energy efficiency can be optimized.
With the support of SIGMAtools GmbH, we are currently reviewing our machinery for energy saving potential and further optimization. SIGMAtools GmbH is a high-tech start-up company founded in Zurich in 2013 as an ETH spin-off. Dr. Adam Gontarz and David Hampl have already carried out several measurements, studies and consultations in this field. With their measurement technology, analysis methods and optimization know-how, they have specialized in the area of energy and resource efficiency in production.
Based on the “Value Stream Map”, methods for quick overview are applied to identify machines and production systems with the highest optimization potential within a production. Using mobile measurement technology, analysis methods and available operational data on energy and resource usage, targeted optimizations and measures are indicated and the most inefficient subsystems are identified.
Detailed energy and resource measurements of machine tools or production systems can be analyzed down to the subsystem level with high resolution using the SIGMAtools multi-channel measurement system. Standardized measurement programs, which are based on the ISO 14955 standard, can be adapted to meet specific production requirements. The scope of the service includes detailed measurement reports with the indication of technically and economically reasonable optimizations as well as concrete action plans.
As a Swiss production company and SME, we at CP Pumpen AG are constantly challenged and also motivated to review and continuously develop our manufacturing processes. Of course, the Swissmem network also helps to find suitable experts who support us in these projects.
In any case, the first results already show that we, as a high-tech pump production company, have a sound level of energy efficiency measures in the measured machine. We are curious about next optimization potentials.
