The international pump specialist CP Pump Systems is expanding its production site in Switzerland!

The pump manufacturer CP Pump Systems, headquartered at Im Brühl in Zofingen, Switzerland, is planning a new production and warehouse facility. It is set to be five stories high, including two basement levels, and will create a total of 3800 square meters of additional space. This will approximately double the currently available area. The planning approval application for the extension of the existing building is submitted to the building authorities in Zofingen.

The hall is planned as an extension to the existing building. „We are exploring various options for how we can continue to grow at our main location in Zofingen,“ says Simon Bolliger, CEO of CP Pump Systems. The building application should also outline the requirements that need to be met during construction. Whether and how the expansion project will actually be realized is part of a strategic decision-making process that is still ongoing, according to Simon Bolliger.

Founded in Zofingen 76 years ago
However, one thing is certain: CP Pump Systems wants and needs to expand because the company has grown significantly in recent years. 1948 was it founded as Chemie Pumpenbau AG in Zofingen. Since then, it has been developing and manufacturing centrifugal pumps used in demanding applications in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, petrochemistry, biotechnology, food, and beverages. Especially in the last seven years, the company has expanded globally and established its own subsidiaries in addition to Germany: 2017 France, 2021 Thailand, 2023 North America, 2024 South Korea.

Now, the company needs more production and warehouse space to increase its capacity at the main Zofingen site and improve efficiency. This includes not only investing in new machinery but also optimizing production processes during ongoing operations. At the same time, processes are also expected to be automated, and production robots increasingly deployed. Nevertheless, jobs are likely to be created, says Bolliger. However, the exact number is not yet clear. CP Pump Systems is examining various options for expanding production and warehouse space, all centered around the main Zofingen site. „Here, with our team of experienced professionals and our supplier network, we have ideal conditions to continue growing,“ says CEO Simon Bolliger. The building application for the new production and warehouse hall will remain open for public review until March 7th.
