Magnetically coupled pump from CP Pump Systems with the unique reverse drive principle

Does your pumped liquid contain solids or have other difficult-to-handle properties? With the magnetically coupled pump (MKP) from CP Pump Systems, your pumping processes are carried out reliably and safely. Safe, robust, efficient and in CP pump quality from Switzerland.

Whether soft, hard or greasy, your solids are reliably conveyed with our MKP. Up to 30% solids content and 1 mm particle size, depending on the pumped medium. Coping with these applications requires the selection of the right pump technology and materials to suit the pumped medium as well as careful planning and maintenance of the pump system.

Due to solids loads in liquids, many magnetically coupled pumps stop prematurely because the channels of the partial flow guide become blocked. The result is dry running, which is a sure prerequisite for pump damage in magnetically coupled pumps.“

However, possible dry running can be monitored. The magnetic drive pumps from CP Pump Systems have a containment shell that has proven itself in practice for years and is available in different materials and designs depending on the application. This containment shell can be equipped with a patented containment shell temperature measurement, which effectively detects unwanted operating conditions in a matter of seconds.

This safety option is sufficient for many applications. However, certain processes with high wear requirements require additional measures to prevent the pumped medium from being released if the containment shell breaks through (e.g. due to scouring of solids).

CP has developed and qualified a secondary sealing system with a radial shaft seal ring (RWDR) for such special cases, which uses a pressure and/or leakage detector for monitoring. It can be used at pump speeds of up to 3600 rpm and is suitable for pressures of up to 16 bar at temperatures of -80 °C to 250 °C.

The secondary barrier option is available for both monoblock and bearing bracket designs and provides an additional safety feature for particularly challenging applications.

In a customer application for pumping Miscella, a mixture of organic extractant (solvent) and hard wax, the challenge was to pump additional solids such as carbon particles and sand. An almost hopeless application for conventional magnetically coupled pumps.

With the compact MKP from CP Pump Systems, solids can also be pumped thanks to excellent slide bearing flushing. Flushing connections on the pump housing also offer additional options. This means that the sleeve bearing and the rear area of the containment shell can be easily reached if required. Nothing stands in the way of the safe transportation of a difficult conveying task.
