When choosing the right pump becomes difficult due to abrasion, the chemical process pump with ceramic lining and double mechanical seal from CP Pump Systems can be the solution!

Selecting the optimum pump can indeed be a complex task, as there are many different types of pumps suitable for different applications and conditions. The more challenging, corrosive and abrasive the medium to be pumped, the narrower the choice of suitable pump types. The plant engineering expert is familiar with this problem.

"In our production, we use the ET pump for transfer to an agitator tank. The medium that we pump here is contaminated with solids, for example due to unreacted feed materials," says our customer, who has tried a number of things for his application in the past without success.

"In the past, we had a pump type in use that had excellent corrosion properties, but could not withstand the high abrasion requirements. The service life of the pump was extremely unsatisfactory at the time - we're talking about three months! We were able to counteract this problem with the ceramic-lined centrifugal pump from CP Pump Systems (type ET). Abrasion is no longer an issue for us at this point, the ceramic withstands the heavy load."

The ET centrifugal pump is very suitable for liquids with a high solids content and a tendency to crystallize and/or polymerize and is completely metal-free on the pump side. The ceramic lining is diffusion-resistant and achieves a high level of chemical resistance.

The described and newly installed ET pump was opened for inspection at the customer's premises after a running time of around nine months and virtually no abrasion was detectable. "In some cases, the ceramic shine was still present," confirms the customer.

"We are now achieving a service life of around two years with the CP pump. What an excellent result, that's something to be proud of. We can therefore warmly recommend this model to anyone who has similar problems with abrasion."

Design of the ceramic-lined pump type ET
The ceramic-lined pump with double mechanical seal on the drive shaft stands for maximum safety. With a double mechanical seal, one seal separates the pumped liquid from the sealing liquid, while the second seals between the sealing liquid and the atmosphere. This CP-optimized design with its own Futuramik® double mechanical seal offers decisive advantages to industries that pump hazardous and corrosive liquids with a high proportion of abrasive solids. The dirt-resistant and open impeller is designed so that the pump can convey media containing solids as efficiently and smoothly as possible at pressures up to PN10.

Advantages of installation and repair
The ET centrifugal pump is also very easy to install, as it consists of a modular system of just a few individual parts. Thanks to connection dimensions and performance data in accordance with DIN EN ISO 2858, previous pumps can be replaced without any problems.
