CP offers consulting and design services to help you maximise the energy efficiency of your fluid handling systems and select the right pumps and motors - by far the largest energy consumers in such systems.
With the European Union’s Energy-using Products (EuP) Directive (2009/125/EG, formerly 2005/32/EG) raising the importance of energy efficiency in fluid handling systems, the European Association of Pump Manufacturers, Europump, has launched the “ECOPUMP” initiative and issued numerous guides and publications on system efficiency and optimisation measures. Concurrently, the Hydraulic Institute, North America's largest pump association, has developed its “Pump Systems Matter™” initiative, a “Pump System Improvement Modeling™” tool (PSIM™) and various publications related to American standards and regulations.
Our energy efficiency services and consulting cover:
- Fluid handling systems: calculation and design services providing clear and authoritative data to increase energy efficiency in fluid handling systems.

In response to a growing demand, CP provides advice on clean energy issues to a wide spectrum of private and public sector clients, including owners and operators of chemical, pharmaceutical and other fluid process plants, governments, international organisations and non-profit institutions. Now, in the aftermath of the financial crisis, with heightened awareness of energy costs, there is increasing recognition that “saving energy” is not just about “reducing energy consumption” to mitigate climate change, but also translates into “cutting energy bills”.

Ecodesign: sustainable and responsible business The European Commission's “Ecodesign" Directive aims to prevent disparities in national legislation on the environmental performance of energy-using and energy-related products from creating barriers to intra-EU trade.
ENERGY STAR: Buildings & Plants “ENERGY STAR” is a joint programme of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping to save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products, buildings and plants. Fluid handling businesses, such as chemical, pharmaceutical and other facilities, are eligible for labelling, too.
