Stainless Steels

1.4581 (~316Ti) - CP's standard casting

This austenitic stainless steel is often designed as an investment casting. By heat treatment in the form of solution annealing and subsequent quenching, the material properties are final. It is resistant to mineral acids, and its Nb-share is eight times the carbon content (C ≤ 0.07%).

Because of the steels many advantages and its similarity to 1.4571 (316Ti), this stainless steel is used by CP as standard for all stainless steel pump casings made from casting.

EN symbol GX5CrNiMoNb19-11-2

These CP pumps are available: MKP; IL-BTO; KTP; ZMP

1.4404 (316L) - CP's low ferrit (0%) casting

This austenitic stainless steel shows good acid resistance. It is often used for mechanical components with high demands on corrosion resistance, especially in chlorinated media. This steel finds application in various areas, especially in the chemical industry, apparatus engineering, sewage plants, paper industry, but also in the pharmaceutical industry (production of cleaning, disinfecting and drying machines), the medical industry and the Prosthetics.

These CP pumps are available: MKP; IL-BTO; KTP; ZMP

1.4404/1.4435 (316L) - CP's standard bar stock

This austenitic stainless steel is available with defined δ-ferrite contents ≤ 3%, ≤ 1% and ≤ 0.5%. It is very resistant to corrosion and is commonly used in pharmaceutical, pulp and textile plants. At very low δ-ferrites, the steel loses its elasticity and becomes brittle.

EN symbol X2CrNiMo18-14-3

These CP pumps are available: MKP-Bio; MKPP; SZMK

1.4538/1.4539 (904L)

This austenitic special steel has a high molybdenum part, as well as copper and extremely low carbon. This steel has excellent stability against pitting corrosion, stress corrosion and inter-granular corrosion.

EN symbol X1NiCrMoCu25-20-5

These CP pumps are available: MKP; MKP-Bio; MKPP; SZMK

1.4301/1.4306/1.4307 (304/304L)

This austenitic stainless chromium-nickel steel shows good corrosion resistance and weld ability. Applications with acids have to be checked individually. However, after welding, this steel is not resistant against inter-granular corrosion anymore. In addition, the steel has very good polishing and deep drawing properties.

It is used in the crude oil industry, chemical industry, petrochemical industry, automobile industry.
